3) The CZ was perhaps one of the longest running consists of equipment
running in its as-built assisngment. I was talking about the "pure" train
running on the CZ schedule......the 2nd CZs were assembled out of spare CZ
cars and anything else the Q could muster....and yes, it
does appear that it ran when there was heavy Chicago-Denver traffic.
Thanks for the explanation, Ed.... I was not aware what went on in the dark
of night in the middle of Iowa or Nebraska. Most of the consists I looked
at were from this end of the railroad so did not reflect what was going on
on the "real" CZ when it was on Lines West! I;m surprised that photos
haven't surfaced of the train pulling into or leaving Denver in this
contanimated state!!
