Yes, NP dome-coaches were on IC's City of Miami during the winter season. I
rode the City Chicago to Jacksonville around February 1970. Unfortunately,
southern Illinois is not noted for scenery, and while IC's intentions may have
been good, painting the front windows black (or plating them over, or whatever)
was not passenger friendly. The cars looked great in IC colors; you just
could not see forward out the front windows. The IC always leased cars off
season from other railroads to match their on-season. The owning road always
received the cars back in their own color schemes. Good deal, that! Jim
