Sir, in reference to the 4978, It is now at the
Mendota railroad museum at Mendota, Il.
We moved it from Ottawa, Il in November of 1997.
I did not wee it brought in, but have lived in the
area nearly all my life, and as a volenteer at the
museum, have put in many an hour working with this
beautiful steamer.
The 4978 had been purchaced by a Mr. Thorton, and
then deeded to the LaSalle Cty. historical society,
therefore, they legaly own the locomotive, tender, and
a 1911 wooden waycar, the equipment is on loan to the
museum with the obligation to take care of it.
If you need more on the 4978, I will be glad to tell
you what I can. leo McCauley McNabb, Il.
