One advantage of buying new from So. Platte or anyone handling their
books is their current offering of Wymore Story is the 4th edition
and has been expanded.
1st "70, 124 pp soft paper spiral-bound by J-B Publ of Crete, NE as a
project of Cornhusker Chapter-NRHS
2nd "84, 64 pp slick paper - soft cover stapled by So. Platte Press
3rd "87, 82 pp slick paper - slick cover glued " "
4th - the current offering from So. Platte
Note: the So. Platte versions have all the prose & photos of J-B Publ
version but less 'white' space with the exception of lacking the loco
rosters, tonnage ratings, abandonments, etc. In an ideal world, you
would want a copy of the 1st Edition and the 4th. I particularly
liked the loco roster as tells you what time span EACH loco was on
the division so if you model a specific yr you know exactly which
locos to have/not have (steam, gas-electric & diesel).
A great project for anyone BRHS mbr would be to get copies of an many
Q loco rosters as possible and create a complete spread sheet of
which ones were on which division yr by yr. Perhaps begin with the
1940;s to 1970 to cover the vast majority of our modelers??
