Listers
In ORER's between about 1913 and 1917, some of the old 34' stock cars (the
remains of various single- and double-deck groups built by Pullman, Wells &
French, etc. between about 1887 and 1892) are noted "Not to be used for live
stock loading", presumably because they were no longer fit for the job.
These cars were listed in the revenue section as opposed to being numbered for
company service. Other old stock cars of the period were shown as having roof
doors for loading coke, but not these ones. If they could not be used for live
stock, does anyone have any suggestions what they might have been used for?
