I also replace the entire gearbox. I used one that was slightly oversized, had
to mill/shave some material off both the gearbox and the frame. I believe I
used the mod 4 NWSL gearbox in both O-1a and the NKP M-4, which also received a
can motor, flywheel, (not needed now, with DCC), new drivers to make an M-4a,
and sound. Take your time, and make sure everything is quartered and gauged
perfectly.
