I am compiling a list of meat packing plants served by railroads in Iowa,
Southern Minn, and boundary cities. My focus is on the 40/50's. (hence no
IBP plants are on my list) This will be part of a NMRA clinic on meat
packing plants I am giving later this year, as well as for an article I am
writing. Many of these plants closed or merged in the 70/80's for a variety
of reasons and it is hard to learn their names.
Below is the list as I have it so far, there are some blanks where I don't
know the name of the packing plant. If you know of a meat packing plant in
Iowa or Southern Minn that is not on my list please send me the information.
