I'm fuzzy on this but I think the domes were placed into service as they
were delivered.  I'm trying to confirm this with a retired Conductor but
have not had a reply yet.  I know when I first started paying attention to
the GN domes, about 1956/57 they were still new and were great looking cars.
I think the GN full length domes were the finest built.  They were appointed
beautifully both upper and lower decks.
