Bob
It depends on the territory. I work the Union Ave Dispatcher Job and work
with the Operator at Lumber Street(it takes 5 men to run Lake Street Tower
2nd trick) an operator on the B&O Bridge over the Chicago River, and the
operator at East End Tower at the East End of Cicero Yard(Trains Mag left it
out) Also work with the B&OCT RB dispatcher and the yardmaster at Ashland
Ave on NS. In addition to the trains I run I also do all the computer work
for the East End( Clear trains and do the CAD Trainsheet work)

Just a dispatcher with a radio to talk to the Engineer or do they use
wireless networking to a computer in the cab? The only humans on the train
is an Engineer and a brakeman? Do some trains run without humans onboard,
i.e., computer automation or remote control by a dispatcher or what? Is
there a web site that describes modern railroading methods?
