I know I have had this on before but it is a long time coming hihi. I am
looking for information about the CB&Q and the Litchfield, Il branch. This
was originally the Jacksonville and Southeaster line. I need information
about the why and how it was built. Looking for financial and political
reasons. The paper will cover from 1850 - 1950 and compares the railroad
industry of Litchfield with the coal mining in the Hillsboro area. ANy
references would help as far as what books, etc to look at as can order
most through the inter library system of the university.
Thanks for the help and information.
