Yes - this was possible - and could have been very exciting at the time. A
deputy commander of Quantrill's Raiders made a "business" out of raiding the
NMRR during the war, (name was "Bloody Bill" Anderson), but I don't think he
was real active until late '62 . . . that road became part of the Wabash,
then the Norfolk & Western, now Norfolk Southern.
