CN's new GE's have tapered corners on the nose for better visibility. They
also have the EMD-style windshield with the outer lower corner angled down.
. . .they're going back to the AAR Standard control stand . . .
They always had the standard control stand (both EMD's and GE's)
. . .stuff over on the Fireman's side, for the Conductor to do whatever's
left for him to do. . .
He gets to operate the microvave and hot plate and manage the refrigerator.
I guess to keep it "somewhat" Q-related, we do have a 5632. First time I
was running it, a fellow engineer who refers to himself as a "reformed"
railfan commented that he thought that unit had been scrapped. It took me
a moment to realize what he was referring to, since I didn't expect it from
someone who denies being a railfan!
