[BRHSlist] Westerfield XM-24 details

Hi,

 

I'm building the XM-24 car from Westerfield now.

 

In the instruction there is a photo of the B end of the CB&Q car that is
quite dark, so I can't see the lift bars there. 

Does anyone know if the XM-24 had top or bottom mounted lift bars in the
late forties?
