The Rivarossi model is a U25C and is modeled after a Northern Pacific unit. The
Q models have screened doors behind the cab where the air compressor is located
and a box with a screened top mounted on the rood above these doors. Sunrise
Enterprises makes the correct Q MARS/signal light for the nose, but the rest
you'd need to do on your own. I thought there was an article on doing the door
conversion some time ago, but its been to long to remember where.John

Subject: [BRHSlist] Diesel model ID help request
The local museum group I just joined up with had numerous cartons of locos
and cars donated, most without boxes. I undertook to catalog some of it,
including one HO Rivarossi diesel.
About the best I could tell was that it's some kind of six-axle GE,
numbered "Burlington 550." From similar-numbered units (564 and 566) on the
Fallen Flags CB&Q page, I'd guess it's a U28C. There were no Rivarossi units in
the list of CB&Q models on the Fallen Flags site.
Can anyone confirm the GE type, and maybe provide a Rivarossi stock number?
Thanks.
