Jumpin Jiminy, I was going to guess Downers Grove, honestly!
A couple of ID's ... Right column, second down, the official with hat and suit
with back to camera I'll bet is Vic Grobek. Right hand column, fourth down,
that's Chuck Miller, Aurora Div Supt if I'm not wrong. any other ID's from
anyone?

Ok, new photos are posted at http://www.castlegraphics.com
I did find out where the derailment was, there was one photo with the
information on the back. However, I'm sure some of you would rather guess, soI
won't tell you right away and give you a shot! :) If you want to find out if
you are right, right-click on the photo (any one) and select "properties". The
photo name has the location and year.
Incidentally, you also get another treat...I found several photos that were
fairly closely spaced and were able to compile them into the panoramic shot of
the wreckage seen at the bottom of the page...
More stuff later, including The "Q" Montgomery, IL tower, abandoned in 1969,
interior and exterior views...
Cheers!
Jan

Got some pretty amazing things in today...in my second installment of photos
purchased from Bud Laws (great guy), I have a whole series of a CBQ
derailment...location and year unknown, I'm hoping some of you mature
railroaders will know the answers.. :)
John B. sent me all the sheets for the CB&Q waltz awhile back, and I attempted
to clean them up but couldn't get them to where an OCR would read them.
However, I finally found all the sheets again and sent them to my brother last
night, he sat down all day today and transcribed them to his music program,
which then compiled the piano and strings version of the waltz! Give a few
thanks to my brother, he's out of a job right now and I appreciate him taking
the time to do this for us. It will be playing in the background when you are
looking at the new-old pics! :) I hope you don't mind,John B., if so, please
let me know...at any rate, possibly be the first time anyone has heard this in
what...50 years or more?
I'll email the list again when I get them all posted...
Cheers!
