Hi Folks,
Going through my 1930 ORER I find 1000 HM hoppers in number series
190000 thru 190999. Does anyone have any idea what this series of
cars would have looked like. There was another 750 cars in a later
series but appear to be the same style. 1750 cars doesn't seem to be
very many for a railroad hauling a lot of coal, especially over a
physical plant the size of the Burlington's. Was there other types of
cars used for coal service in the 1930's?
Used to seeing coal hoppers in the quanities that the N&W and C&O
used them.
Thanks,
George
