Greg,
In the early eighties, Oriental Limited produced a correct consist of these
(plated-unfinished). They are pretty nice (underbody and truck are crude)
They also produced the 4700 series pre-war coaches that were often used to
amplify the train.
A few years ago, Shoreham Shops (now Railway Classics) produced the complete
set in both plated-unfinished and factory finished sets. They are very
nicely done.
Both sets are relatively easy to find on the various brass sites.
You also mentioned the Blackhawk. In 1950 the Blackhawk and the Oriental
Limited - GN's other train to the west coast were combined from Chicago Union
to St. Paul producing some interesting consists! That is a fun train to
model as well. The Oriental Limited was discontinued in 1951 - replaced by
the Western Star.
