Hello! My name is Ken Ingram. I have recently come into the
possesion of December 1890 Chicago, Burlington and Northern Railroad
time tables/map, and I have a few questions:
While there is heavy empahsis on St. Paul to Chicago and St. Louis,
the map depicts the entire Burlington system (in fact, the entire
U.S.). I had thought the CB&N was bought by the CB&Q in 1899. Was
the CB&N owned by CB&Q at this time 1890? My guess is yes.
Is there a source on-line for a few paragraphs about the history of
the CB&N, and/or photos of the CB&N?
Curious that the CB&N refers to itself in these time tables as "THe
Burlington". I have a modest collection of time tables and ephemera
for various select railroads. The CB&Q and it's predecessor roads
are very interesting to me personally. These CB&N RR time tables and
map from 1890 are as nice as any I've come across.
Thanks,
Ken Ingram
