Steve this is for your info and anyone else interested. Friday going thru the
BRT rule files(rules in the schedule/agreement that is) I came across this
tidbit from a study of business done in 1933 on a motor car. The purpose of
the study was to support taking the brkmn off the job for lack of things for
him to do.This would have made the job engineer and Conductor only(sound like
real forward thinking to about 1995 or so).
The job started out of Mendota as # 17,it ran to Kasbeer via Zearing.Turning
at Kasbeer it became #14 to Streator, It then left Streator as #19 to
Zearing. From Zearing to Mendota it operated as #32 and was scheduled to
arrive at 3:25PM.
Dont know the final outcome of the study other than there were few passengers
and little mail, express, etc. The list of business by passenger/day,mail
pouches/per day and express parcels /day is lined up to be scanned.
