Thanks Dave, for those fascinating consists!
The first one of train 3 on 1/29/64 lists "Silver Thrush" (a CZ 6 Double
Bedroom, 5 Compartment Pullman) in place of a 10-6. There must have been
some happy passengers that night holding Roomette or Double Bedroom tickets
who were upgraded to more spacious rooms! It just goes to show anything and
everything occurred with regards to car assignments at one point.
A friend in Kansas City recalled seeing one of the Twin Zephyr Vista Dome
Observation Parlor cars (View or Vista) operating at least one trip as a
coach on one of the Kansas City to Omaha Burlington trains in the late
sixties. A thrill for those lucky passengers.
Was the consist book you are refering to, ever published?
