Looking at my Q passenger car diagram book, it seems that the pre-war cars did
not have the full length skirting. Also, it appears that some of the pre-war
cars didn't have the fluting that covered the area on either side of the road
name boards either. My guess is that Walthers made the sacrifice for curve
radius limitations by leaving out the full length skirts....
While I haven't seen a Q car yet, I have looked at a SP car....these Budd cars
are far superior to anything in HO plastic (Athearn, ConCor, IHC or Rivarossi)
that is currently available.
Is there anybody out there that is an expert on Q passenger cars (Rich G)?

John Lewis

Subject: [BRHSlist] Walthers Budd 45 seat coach
I have received one of the new Walthers Budd coach lettered for Burlington.
I am disappointed in that these cars(Q version) do not have the full skirts
that the full scale Q cars had. Also the name board has the flat sheet
metal version as compaired to the full length fluting on the Q/CZ cars. The
assembly of these cars is very interesting as the sides are flat pieces that
snap into a flimsy frame. With the addition of the floor, ends, interior
seats, and roof these cars are very nice looking and sturdy. Does anyone
have any comment(s) on these cars and suggestions for attaching the full
length shirts? Jules Johnson
