Glen,
If my calculations are correct, the train would have more than filled the
entire bridge. The bridge is 1,972 feet from bank to bank. With 27 cars at
a conservative average of 80' each, and 5 locomotives at 76' each that
totals 2,403 feet!

The train I remember the most, however, was on a Monday morning when
#10 was running with a single consist of 5 motors and 27! cars, all
stainless steel. <clip> This train appeared to span the entire length of
the Mississippi River bridge.
