The 49' (40 seat) coach was #525, built 6/35; the 64' (60-seat) coach was
#100, built 6/39. The 64' (24 seat/dinette) car most often associated with
the Pioneer Zephyr was built 6/38. The history of these cars is often
confused.
#525 was originally built to augment 9900, and remained (usually) a part of
her consist until delivery of #500, which allowed the second car (#505) to
be converted to a full baggage. None of the "fourth cars" were ever used in
Twin City service with 9901/02, because they would have been too loaded to
maintain the schedules on 600 hp.
Randy's assignments of 100 and 525 are correct, but only after the trains
had been demoted to more liesurely services. (Note that 500 and 100 weren't
even delivered until well after the Trains of the Gods/Goddesses had taken
over the Twin City route)
