I found a clip from the Oregon paper of an old photo which shows the river
spur crossing Rt. 64 ca. 1910. Was the road Rt. 64 at the time? Maybe just
Washington Street. Anyway, I would guess the track lasted until the new
bridge was built on the present raised grade. It has a 1930s/WPA look to it,
but I don't have a date for its construction.
There's half a boxcar visible on the north side of the street in the scene
looking east across Rock River. The logo could be Burlington Route although
it's tough to tell given newspaper reproduction standards.
