The second place bidder owns a bunch of equiptment rusting away in Wisconsin
and has not done any work let alone let anyone see it. One problem is where
are you going to run a big locomotive which is needed to haul a train to pay
the bills. IRM is currently trying to finish the UP 2-8-0 and they have a
place to run any thing except the larger locomotives as well as the cars to
haul.
There is a Cotton Belt eng in Pine Bluff but Uncle Pete will not let them
run. Houston is trying to rebuild a 2-10-2 while better smaller engines with
some where to run are rusting away in Galveston just over the bay. It is
nice to dream but someone has to do the work and pay the bills
