5632 was cut up along with GTW 5629 in 1969? I had the pleasure of riding on
and photographing both engines.
Following is a summary of a newpaper clipping dated 1974?
The Chicago & Western Illinois RR sold all of Dick's equipment for scarp for
$6000. Dick took the C&WI to court and was awarded $1,707,308 by a jury of 7
women and 4 men. Dick was a resident of Park Forest Illinois. One day before
the jury hearing, the C&WI offered Dick $150,000, he refused. During the
hearing, Dick's attorneys carried "3 1/2 tons of train parts" into the court
house!!!! One of the items was a 1500 pound siderod - from 5632????
