I think I have sometimes heard ATSF guys refer to the car on the end of the train as a “Waycar” as well.   I know that the term “Caboose” was probably the more normal term for that road but maybe some regions used the “right” term?   (also LOL)

We were still calling them motors two days before Thanksgiving when I stopped working.  "Waycars" used to make the Santa Fe guys nuts too LOL
