Hi, Everyone knows that after 1901 the GN and NP each owned about half of the CB&Q. However, they didn't own 50 percent each; they owned 48.4 percent each. I've always wondered who owned the other 3.

I always thought the stock other that GN & NP owned was in the hands of old presidents family's(i.e. Perkins etc).      Q stock also paid better dividends then GN & NP combined.   -- On Mon, 4/11/11,

One of the things that Bob Downing told me about the Q stock is that BN made a concerted effort to buy up the remaining shares and got it down to just a small number of shareholders, who did not want
