Rich and Loren, thanks for your answers. Chicago is the centre of railroading in the States I read occasionally. Did only the Q build a triple track speedway out of Chicago? And why did they do it?

The viaduct in Aurora was built with 3 tracks and the idea was to add two more to the North/West side to handle the traffic. Once the elevations at both Aurora and Cicero to Chicago were finished it
