Maybe the car was intended for possible use on the Texas Zephyr. I checked Randall's "From Zephyr to Amtrak" and see that the C&S and FW&D purchased Budd cars for the TZ in 1937, 1938 and 1940. Were

Mike, Those two coaches for the C&S were 600 and 601 - Silver Mine and Silver Spur for the TZ. The diagram shows no Jim Crow section, but Randall may be using a generic diagram here. I'm sure Hol wil

Rich The Q operated a CW-6 (3992) with an eight passenger Jim Crow compartment from Centralia,Illinois to Paducah, Kentucky on trains 71-72 until the 1940's. In that regard, this was very much the so
