Jan, I will guess the location is Los Angeles. There were six engines leased to SP during WWII. The features they added were number boards and blackout shades to the headlight and classification ligh

Jan, That is the train number not the locomotive number. The "X" stands for an extra. Ken Martin Sacramento where I get too much SP.

When the SP was done leasing these engines from the Q, did they remove the cone over the head lights and did they remove the number boards? Also, can one "assume" that the SP sent these engines back
