When Silver Rapids was "PC'd" Penn Central, PC placed an additional number board below the car name. This letter board held the car number. This number board could have been added by the PRR, however

Hate to correct such things, Charlie - but.... The SILVER RAPIDS never had a "silver roof" (as I know you know). it was natural stainless. And the "black roof" was roofing cement which tended toward
