In perusing the Oct.-Dec. 1948 CB&Q system passenger timetable, I came across an ad that listed all the Zephyrs in operation. One Zephyr listed was the ZEPHYR 9902. I never encountered this Zephyr be

IIRC, Zephyr 9902 was the name given to the Chicago to Quincy, Ill., service in the mid to late 1940's--early 1950's. It was called that because it was the second train, the "twin" in the Twin Zephyr

Not quite - 9902 was the *surviving* "First Twin"; sister 9901 was burned in Texas in Dec. '44. 9902 did operate the Chi-Quincy run for a while after WW II, and was then transferred to the Galesburg-
