I looked at the http://atsf.railfan.net/airhorns/ 5 chime consultants site. New York Central's E unit horn would often emit a shrill high-pitched whistle indicating the horn needed cleaning. Only on

I had thought the high pitched horn sounded normal. But after learning that poorly maintained horns could also emit shrill sounds, I thought that was the reason for the high pitched. Looking at Chica
