I have a black and white photo taken from a Milwaukee Road Historical society magazine(3rd quarter-1997) of Savanna taken in 1957. The view is from the air(Sattelite? he-he...) and it is hard to see

I hired out for the BN in 1973, the double track at Savanna ended at the Stockyard Signal at the east end of the Savanna Yard just before starting around the curve before Plum River, I believe the CT

Tom, This may be true. If so when was the 2nd track installed in 1904 removed? Or, are we talking about true double track or two tracks that run alongside each other.? I hired out for the BN in 1973,

I don't know about the track installed in 1904, I am talking about 2 main tracks which is how double track is classified in CTC, Main 1 and Main 2, it is CTC from the stockyard signal to Plum river,
