Mainline Modeler, June 1984 apparently had plans for a CB&Q coaling tower. Does anyone have this issue? If so, can anyone tell me whether this might have been a Fairbanks-Morse design? Thanks. Duncan

It caught my attention because the old tower in Keokuk was the same capacity. Rob Adams has a couple of pictures of it on his K&W website. Timber construction, spanning one track and serving a second

Thanks Rob. I'll look for one of those. Not entirely sure when the tower was removed. It certainly wasn't being used in the early sixties (or even at the end of Wabash steam in Keokuk). It had been r

Rob, I know (probably through Phil) that it was a fixed system with a pit. Duncan Thanks Phil. That may help Duncan decide whether to include a tower. I'm a late 1930's modeler, so my plans remain un

Philip, How likely do you think it would be that the tower in Keokuk was taken down during the 50's? I suppose I should ask the same question about the CB&I water tank at the same end of the yard. Du
