I don't know the answer to your question, but I counted 17 cars in an eastbound CZ #18 at Burlington Iowa in the summer of 1966 during the airline strike.  It had foreign line cars but I don't recall specifics, or how many motors were on the head-end.

Hello everyone!

 

I heard rumor that Kato announced another run of the 11-car California Zephyr set (N scale). They have already done 5 releases, all with unique car names (and I have 4 of those sets already), so if the new release is another unique named set, that will be 66 unique car names. I will eventually own all six sets.

 

SO…… That begs the question:

 

What was the longest (most cars) recorded run on a California Zephyr?
