All,

Let me clear up the confusion. Since Broadway Limited is openly talking about the project at shows, I feel comfortable letting you know that BLI had paused the project for a while. In October,  I received an updated set of CAD drawings to review (called G.O.D.S.) created by the builder. I spent hours reviewing each drawing, comparing them to Al Hoffman’s drawings created for the Challenger Imports E5s, and prototype images, identifying things that needed adjustment. The attention to detail includes the different roof grills on the As, B, in both phases.

The drawings are of A and B units of both “Phases” (E3 & E6 attributes) in two versions, 1940s as delivered with full skirting,  and 1960s minus skirts. I’ve not seen the painting yet, but I would hope that the 1960s will be available in both black and red whiskers. They are even considering a 1960s version accurate for C&S/FW&D with the “abbreviated” fuel tank skirting.

All I hope for, is that when the project is officially announced for pre-orders,  everyone is willing to open their wallets and not be publicly “nit-picky” if minor glitches occur.

Dave

So,

Here is Broadway’s “teaser” pre-announcement. I have been working with the Broadway team and just finished my first review of the manufacturer’s GODs.  These will be modeled in HO scale.  When these are announced officially, Q Connection will be taking reservations for these.

Are you a fan of the Chicago Burlington and Quincy? Are you looking for some sleek streamlined passenger locomotives? Or maybe you just like pieces of equipment in museums? Hopefully you answered "yes" to one or more of these questions.

We are working on the CB&Q EMD E5 diesel! The 3D CAD Drawings you see below are the first drawings of these locomotives. There are going to be numerous revisions between now, and when we officially announce these models.

I am a bit confused about all the emails about "hoping" that someone will do the CB&Q E5's in HO and hopefully in black nose. Dave sent email out over a year ago. So the BLI project is not a secret. I am positive they will do these in both black nose and red nose. I talked to BLI at the NMRA national convention this year in Novi, MI and they were not secretive about the project. They confirmed they were still working on it. Has anything changed since then?
