Most of the recent E unit releases ignore black strips, which makes no sense to me because there is already a glut of red nose E units. What I’d really like to see is a E5 in black stripes. Isn’t there anything the societies model industry consultants can do to wake it up to the need for black stripes?

I see that Rapido just announced E7's for the CB&Q.  Unfortunately, they are only doing the Red nose stripe version with stainless steel panels.  They have never followed through with any Black nose E8's, so the pre-1958 modelers have been completely shut out.  Thank goodness I still have all my Challenger and Oriental Limited brass units with LokSound v5 sound decoders installed!

 

You post 1958 modelers now have something to look forward to!
