You weren't kidding!!! The shots of the 1591 at the Fort Wayne Union
Station and the 1592 at the CB&Q turntable in Chicago are great....but the
shot of the C&NW / CB&Q SCAL junction with the PRR is priceless!! First
Shot of what has to be the 1872 (or earlier, have to look at the fire maps
to see if the 1850's Canal Street station could have survived the Chicago
Fire) 16th & Canal Street Station Building!!!
I think I can establish the date of the image....some days after August 3,
1908 when a fire in the CB&Q outbound freight house (beyond the light
colored façade east of the flat cars) spread to the two grain elevators east
of and north. The fire hoses are streaming on the smoldering remains of
the two Armour & Company (CB&Q) elevators "E" and "F". Also destroyed was
Union Company's elevator. The photographer is standing on the Canal Street
Viaduct.
Yes to all....also the fuzzy one, it might be the only image we have of the
subject.

If you look closely these are shots of two different trains!
Although they have what looks like the same consist, the baggage car is reversed from one to the other (smoke jack in one, stirrup on front door and on rear door in the other.
