Thread-topic: [CBQ] Aurora Foundry Kit
Bill,

I just built the sand tower and sand house in Burlington from photos, so it
would be interesting to see what it really looked like, assuming the kit is
similar to the sand house in Burlington. Since I model 1953, I built my model
as a small brick building with a wood sand hopper on the roof. If you have
time, please scan the instructions for your kit and post them to this group.

Bob,

The kit is in my kit cabinet, so it was easy to get out. I just opened it up.
The windows and doors on the basswood have die cuts. So you would need to just
have a sharp X-acto or steel die cutter to punch them out.
The windows and door are plastic. The vents are cast metal (they look fairly
clean in the sealed package). There is strip wood included. I've attached the
instructions for those who might be interested. As the instructions say, this
is a compressed version of the actual foundry.

The HO model foot print is 5 inches wide by 9 inches long.

Muir Models has been out of business for a long time now.

I think they also did a CB&Q Sand House and I think I have that kit packed away
somewhere.
