I'm going to check out the rest of your layout info tonight.

I'm pretty excited about it on account that I also model the Burlington.  I model the short mainline segment between Galesburg and Peoria, IL.  I'm in the process of backdating the layout from 1980 BN to the Q in 1964.  

Right now I'm working on the paper work part of the era change for an upcoming op session.  I'm having new form A's and 19's being printed, as well as creating a new employee timetable.  One thing that I noticed in the videos is your excellent train register form.  I want to do my best to create a reasonable copy of it to use in my own operations, if you don't mind.

Keep up the good work.  This is one of the best presentations that I've seen come out of the hobby in a while.

The on Station Operator covers all stations with operators on the layout:  Broomfield, Louisville, Boulder, and Niwot.  The SO sits in the crew lounge and is also the crew caller.

 

The Dispatcher has a desk in another room and there is an open phone line between the DS and the SO.  The phone line is for OSing trains and dictating train orders.

 

If there is not enough crew for an op session, these two jobs are combined.  The combined DS/SO sits in the crew lounge.

Great video productions Jim. I watched all four of them and can't wait for more.

 

I also do T&TO operations so these are especially of interest to me.

 

Do you use one station operator for the whole railroad and one dispatcher, or are they one and the same?  Whatever it is it seems to work really well.
