Regarding this lettering, can anyone tell John the size and font of the various lettering on these 250T cranes?  Is there a lettering diagram available?

Not knowing how much space one set will require a cannot set an exact price right now, That said, assuming we are speaking HO (once I have the artwork finished, I can do them in pretty any scale) and that there will be white ink involved, I’d make an uniformed estimate of $6.00 - $7.00.

It really depends on the amount of space and ink will be used.

The attachment is of the artwork for SOO crane #W2 in O scale. It uses a full decal sheet (8.5 X 5.5 or half a letter size sheet). The ink is mainly red but there is a lot of open space. If I could have reduced the size of the set to where 2 sets would work on one sheet, the price would have been appreciably less.

I charged $12.00 per set. If it would of used more white ink it would have been $15.00. In HO it would be the same as my estimate, or less depending on how small I can make it.

If we go ahead with this, no money will change hands until I have proof that has been okayed by you. At that point, I send you an invoice and print when I receive payment. I accept PayPal, US POSTAL Money Order’s and personal chocks. With PayPal and USPS MO’s, I print when payment has arrived. For checks there is a waiting period.

That’s it. No set up fees, no minimum number of sets and, usually no artwork charge for prototypical sets unless they are very complicated and involved. No payment in advance waiting for the product to designed and approved.

Excellent idea for a BRHS project.  I have to think that a number of us would be interested in decals for this and perhaps other CB&Q cranes.

Alternatively, perhaps this could be a decal project for the BRHS. I think there would have to be something else in the set to make it a little more worthwhile, but if the Society is interested in going that route, I could offer my assistance on the project once again.

I checked out their website, and it is a minimum of $88 for one sheet of custom made decals. Given that the list price for the upcoming Athearn crane and boom car is $95, the custom decals do not appear to be a cost effective solution.

I still am left wondering how others that have modeled this crane (with several models pictured on-line or in the Zephyr) have lettered their models.
