The E7s were delivered with single bulb lights in both the nose and the door. The one in the nose did oscillate and was a Mars brand light. In the mid to late '50s, they were both converted to dual sealed-beam headlights. The E8s were delivered with the single bean headlights as well, but I believe EMD had switched to the deal beam lights by the time the Q ordered the E9s.

I need a little help with regards to E-7’s. When I worked 14th street, I did not pay attention. I have studied Bulletin #10 and did not find my answer. Did the E-7’s have the dual light (white Mars over red emergency) in the nose? Did they ever have dual headlights in the door? A picture (p.25), I found interesting showing an eastbound dinky on #2 track with the power car right behind the E-8. I thought ALL power cars were to be on the west end so they did not smoke CUS?
