[CBQ] Unusual wreck

Mike and Leo - Note the outhouse that the falling truck missed by a whisker. If it had been occupied at the time, I'm sure the occupant would've burst out the door with his pants down around his ankles!

 

Otherwise I agree with you both, the locomotive engineer erred in shoving the freight cars up the ramp resulting in the gondola going off the end. Wonder how they rerailed the gon? - Louis

I agree with Leo.  It looks like a coal merchant, with the 'tunnel' below the track for loading wagons.  My guess is that it was an Extra Board man running and he didn't have the experience to know how fast to shove the ramp.  Maybe he failed on the first try and the Conductor 'urged' more speed :>)  I can hear it now; "Shove faster or we'll be here all day."
