Somewhere in one of the Spoor books is a photo of a gate crossing on a branchline with the conductor on the phone with the dispatcher seeking clearance to move the gate. As I recall, the phone box was Q structure red. BN painted everything white after they took over, so could your box be from the BN era? I know you found no indication of red, but a white or silver box in the Q era would be an outlier. I’ll look for the color photos of phone boxes in my color books.

Attached are photos of the Line Side Telephone Box.  In the front view, you can make out the letters for telephone.
The box is made of 3/4 inch plywood, has metal corners on the bottom four corners, and a metal wrapped top which is attached with nails on the sides of the top.

Measurements as follows:

• Top        18"x24"
• Front      33"x22"
• Back      29 1/2"x22"
• Sides     33"x29 1/2"x15 1/2"

It appears to have been white at one time and now silver.  There is no hint of a darker paint anywhere.  This came off of the Galesburg Mainline to my knowledge.
