Oh I’ll be buying my share of Broadway triple hoppers when they offer them in the steam era mineral red scheme or even the orange roller bearing scheme (that would be cool!)!!!
Broadway Limited is probably our best hope to someday have an O5 4-8-4 or O1a 2-8-2 so I do support them! I even had Ken Silvestri from Broadway autograph the inside of my Milwaukee Road S3 4-8-4’s box at a train show! Yeah, I know… super nerd move!

Not needed? What about Q modelers that do not have the Accurail or Bowser/Stewart versions? Or do own these and just desire a more accurate and detailed car?
If we expect manufacturers to produce equipment for the CB&Q if we do not support those by purchasing them we will soon kill the market for the production of CB&Q cars.
While Q freight cars may have been delivered with under frames painted Chinese red, how long before any prototype freight car undercarriage becomes black and grimy? So it depends on the modelers personal choice on what point in time the car is being modeled.

It may be correct?!? Some of the Chinese Red hoppers seem to have been black for sure. The photo in Spoor’s color guide of a red triple like the BLI hopper in ‘68 looks to me to have a red bottom. It might be instructive to look at Accurail’s models and see how they painted theirs. Accurail is a CB&Q friendly company and theirs may be correct.
Just as an aside, this model wasn’t needed. I’d be somewhat pleased if it was diecast metal but the Accurail and Bowser / Stewart models are fine in my opinion.
