| It may be correct?!? Some of the Chinese Red hoppers seem to have been black for sure. The photo in Spoor’s color guide of a red triple like the BLI hopper in ‘68 looks to me to have a red bottom. It might be instructive to look at Accurail’s models and see how they painted theirs. Accurail is a CB&Q friendly company and theirs may be correct.
Just as an aside, this model wasn’t needed. I’d be somewhat pleased if it was diecast metal but the Accurail and Bowser / Stewart models are fine in my opinion.
