I was the one who started this thread back in October.
Specific issues I see with this announcement:
-BN coach 746 would not have a toilet
-Nothing higher than 795 should have a nameboard
-For more realism, the nameboards should be mixed BURLINGTON and
BNSF RAILWAY. I heard Clayton Johanson(sp?) (the BNSF manager who
ordered the lettering to be put on) speak about this and I think
he said only ten cars have BURLINGTON. I'd suggest selling sets of
two BNSFs and one BURLINGTON, or one of each with a no-name cab
car.
-Research should be done into when the lettering was added vs.
when the cabs were blanked out (keeping in mind that the current
fleet has no blanked cabs with nameboards).
-If memory serves, they've left out an era when there was a green
and black BN logo to the right of the doors.
To recall my youth (and save money), I'd go for the BN era.
Unfortunately, neither of the 3-car sets is accurate. One set has
746 with a toilet; the other has 802 with a nameboard.
I hope they can be persuaded to change the numbers to be more
accurate before they go into full production. I'd also like to see
the cars with no nameboards offered with lettering and numbers.
The cabs should be numbered 796-815 and the coaches 816-820.

I'll send the product designer a message regarding the
letterboards on the 802/803. I didn't get looped in until late in
the process and didn't see the designs, I just passed along Glen's
comprehensive notes on the cars. There are errors on the BN3 E9 as
well.

Ah, thanks for the reminder on the HEP--"I knew
that".
Because I'm very fond of those BN E's, I expect to pick
up one loco and maybe six cars. Kinda like the cab cars
too, with their stripes.
When the Q cars come, I'm right now thinking only two
cars, as then I think I can skip the power car on the
end. Happily, I'm doing quite nicely on Q E's.
I model a long ways from Chicago, so these purchases are
just for fun.
