Re: [CBQ] BN/CB&Q renumbering/patched units

Not exactly what yo are asking for but from the merger into the mid 1970s there 
was some overlap of unit numbers with 2 or more of the former RRs having units 
with the same number. This is a problem in Timetable & Train Order operations 
should two units of the same number happen to be operating on the same 
division. Therefore in train orders if the identifying unit was not a BN green 
unit then it was ID'd by prefixing the former RR owner's initials. For instance 
"Extra 6705 West take siding meet Extra NP 6705 East at (station)" .  After all 
units were finally renumbered but not necessarily repainted to BN green, the BN 
issued a General Order that said something to the effect of  "For operations 
and train order purposes all locomotives of the former CB&Q, NP, GN, and SP&S 
railroads will be considered as BN locomotives regardless of the paint colors". 
That ended the prefixing of the BN's former road's initials in train orders.
